Coaching

Coaching is an interactive goal-oriented process of one-on-one dialogue and exercises focused on improving performance or behavior based on the coachee's own personal resources. It is practiced in the short-term but produces long-term, measurable, sustainable benefits to the individual or to the corporation.

The coach, also known as The Guide, accompanies an individual – The Explorer – or a group of Explorers on a path aimed at identifying and attaining vision, goals or desires. Our coaches adhere to generally accepted standards for coaching (see ICF's Code of Ethics )

Coaching uses a variety of rapport-building dialogue techniques such as meta-questioning, mirroring, feedback or perhaps NLP exercises to build a reassuring relationship in which the individual's or the group's level of awareness and responsibility in his/her/its own present and future is transformed into positive action. Individual coaching: The client and the coach meet at regular intervals for a desired length of time (usually a minimum of 10 one-hour weekly sessions) to hone the client's personal or professional goal and empower him with methods for attaining it (them).

Corporate coaching: The coach is contracted by a company to work with a specific employee or set of employees with whom the coach then establishes individual contracts (usually a minimum of 10 one-hour weekly sessions but often more or longer), with the understanding that the relationships are privileged and confidential between the coach and client. Goals may be set by the employer for the employee. Such cases may result from jobs change, promotion, corporate-culture integration, performance enhancement or outplacement.

Project and team coaching: The coach is contracted by an individual, a corporation, an association or a team to accompany the group's or project's development to meet a specific goal. This process usually involves the development and realization of a Business Plan to launch a new company, product, concept, development program or perhaps an expansion or downsizing program. The coach usually intervenes during meetings but may also see team players individually. This is known as "360 degree coaching".
